Chiaki's Opinion!: Sora no Otoshimono

"My little rant about this anime contains no spoilers whatsoever. Why? Because this is similar to Lucky Star in that this anime pretty much has no strong plot. It does have a story revolving around the Angeloids but it is quickly overwhelmed by the number of fan service scenes and whenever you think the plot is going to develop some more, it turns into something much more perverted. Hey wait maybe that was a spoiler? Only kidding."

I first found out about Sora no Otoshimono by its manga counterpart, and I loved it. The manga version being the original form, I found that the anime did a great job in transferring some nose-bleeding scenes to animation form! I can tell you that this anime is so light-hearted that it made me feel 'warm and fuzzy' on the inside and that life was all about having 'fun'.


The anime is really aimed at males. And pervy males at that because it is centered around a boy named Tomo who has a harem of ridiculously good looking Angeloids. Each is attractive in their own way so it pretty much covers the tastes of any guy. Don't get me wrong though. I'm not really into watching this sort of anime, after watching ichigo 100% I knew this avenue was not for me. But after taking a peek at the manga and having an absolute laugh I decided that the anime could be an exception. The Angeloids are pretty much 'slaves' and well the first episode may be a little too much for some viewers as it has all the elements for some fantasy 'hentai' material. Super-hot anime girl, choker, chains, skimpy outfits, unrealistically large breasts... But I'm here to tell you that it's safe. SAFE! It goes no further than that however this may already be too much for some.

I love how the characters switch to 'chibi/nendoroid' form at various times which gives certain scenes more impact in funny moments.






This is just an absolutely cute scene from the anime.


This has meant that Nendoroid creations for characters in this anime would fit in perfectly.




What is really crazy about the story is that the lucky boy Tomo, is thrust into a situation any straight male would love to be in and actually does the pervy things we wouldn't even think of doing! Tomo is probably the definition of a pervert. This guy will make you roll around laughing at all the temptations he cannot resist. As a result this anime isn't really safe to watch with your younger siblings or parents. There are even episodes dedicated to Tomo's attempts at peeking in the girls change-rooms.

I think I will leave it up to you if you decide to watch this or not. I think that bath scene is the furthest it actually goes so I can re-assure you that you aren't watching 'hentai'. That being said, this anime is not 'safe for work' or even safe for watching with your family. Aside from the weak story-line this anime is great just for a change of pace as this anime really puts a smile on your face. It's probably best to treat this a a little treat for your eyes because this anime is reaaally good at that. I gave this a Perfect 10 because I found myself watching the next episode after next wanting to see what other humorous adventures lie for this pervy Tomo boy.

I would have loved to include some very nice pictures of the other Angeloids but most of them are actually not suitable for innocent eyes haha (Google Sora no Otoshimono in images and you'll see why). However if you do decide to watch it though, you will be in for some great eye candy and laugh out loud moments.
