Political career
New Imperial Capital
Silberberch was appointed minister of industry on 1 January 798 UC, the same day Lohengramm formed the Ministry of Industry. His first task was to organise and oversee the transfer of the Imperial Capital to the planet Fezzan, which would include the construction of the New Imperial City.
Following Reinhard's ascension to the throne later that year, Silberberch was incorporated into the first Imperial cabinet of the Goldenlöwe Dynasty.
Death
Upon attending a dinner with the other most important Imperials on Fezzan in late March of the year 800 UC, a bomb, set up by previous Landesherr Adrian Rubinsky, detonated and sent debris flying throughout the party. The device itself appears to have had a relatively low yield as Oberstein, Lutz, and Boltik all escaped with relatively minor injuries. Silberberch would have also likely been spared, however a stray piece of shrapnel from the explosion had lodged itself in the front of his brain, and while he received immediate medical treatment, his injury was too much to overcome, and he passed away later on in the night.
Personality
Personality
Extremely self-confident in his own abilities, Silberberch had a reputation for being abrasiveness. When they first met, Reinhard asked him what qualities he thought would be necessary for a minister of industry. Silberberch said:
First, the ability to understand the overall body politic. Also the ability to execute logistics and govern the organisation.
Silberberch claimed to possess at least two of those abilities.
He had great aspirations for the future of the Empire. He foresaw the war ending and a power shift from the military to the civilian ministries. He also spoke of his desire to one day become the Imperial Prime Minister, saying that it was not a lust for control, only to acquire the necessary position and power to freely be able to complete the works he had dreamed up. More specifically, he said he wanted to create massive projects that have never seen before in history. In this way he was not unlike Kaiser Reinhard himself, a man who desired only the power necessary to accomplish their goals rather than vying for power for the sake of personal advancement. He was indispensable as Minister of Industry, so much so that when he fell ill for a week, all of the construction on Fezzan became immediately backlogged before being just as immediately sorted out by the Silberberch on his return to work.
