Aureolus is an alchemist who has the power (called Ars Magna) to turn his thoughts into reality. He was once Index's partner and became obsessed about her. In order to save her he made Deep Blood help him and was up to turn Index into a vampire and save her, though she was always saved by Touma. That made him really mad.
