She is Yuuta's sister, when their parents died she raised Yuuta by herself. She married Shingo when Yuuta was still in middle school.

SpoilerWhile on the flight with Shingo, an accident occurs and they go missing (assumed dead). Against his relatives' wishes, Yuuta took the girls in, allowing them to stay together.
